The cottages on this page are all within about five miles of the beach, in Newborough itself and the villages and farmland of the south-west corner, such as Dwyran, Malltraeth and Bodorgan. Staying this close lets you reach the beach early, before the Natural Resources Wales car park fills on summer days, or walk in through the forest.
Newborough Forest is a large pine plantation on the dunes, home to red squirrels, with tracks that lead to the beach and on to Llanddwyn Island. On the island are the ruins of St Dwynwen's church and two old lighthouse towers. Llanddwyn is tidal, so check the tide times before you cross.
