Trearddur House Cottage, Trearddur Bay

Our second stay, wont be our last So easy to settle in, a second home to us in a way, beautiful setting, close proximity to the beach and shops, such comfy beds. Another summer holiday filled with beautiful memories for our whole family

This property is in a brilliant location,however on arrival the two toilets had a strong urine odour and I could see marks on the kitchen floor,I cleaned the toilets and mopped the floors I have a video of the water filthy. There was a note to say contact the house keeper with any problems,this should be a basic and not something I should have to call someone to fix. There was a little wear ,tiles in the shower were coming away from the wall. This property could be so much more,I wouldnt return or recommend.

Cottage is beautiful, with really comfortable beds and chairs in the living space. The garden is nice and fully enclosed, perfect for dogs and children. The furniture is modern and fits well with the style of the cottage. There were a couple of things that could make this cottage so much better and some things that should be stated on the Sykes website. On arrival, the front door wouldn't open from the outside, and there were some cleanliness issues too. There was dog poo near the gate where the hot tub is, some dishes needed washing, there were splashes of toothpaste on the back of the bathroom door and wall, the radiator and ornaments were dusty, there was an apple core left behind the sofa, and dust and debris behind a chair in the dining area. No hand wash or bin bags were supplied. There was a rusty radiator and towel rail in the bathrooms, and one of the bedrooms needs bedside drawers, but the biggest issue was the hot tub cleanliness and emptying. On using the hot tub, there was still sand, water and hair in it. We had to get in and clean it before filling it up and scrub around the sides too. We have never been anywhere before where we had to clean and fill the hot tub ourselves, and this was not stated on the Sykes website. Heating the hot tub was easy, although more wood would have been appreciated as only four logs and half a bag of firelighters were supplied. The net for the hot tub was covered in leaves and needed replacing. On leaving, it took over an hour to empty the hot tub with the pump. The drain appeared to be blocked, which made the process take much longer. The mop and mop bucket also needed cleaning before being used. Perfect location and within walking distance of restaurants and the beach. We wouldn't book again as the hot tub issues and cleanliness did not reflect the price we paid. Shame really, as the cottage is perfect. We would also recommend two single beds in one of the bedrooms for families with children. Apart from these issues, we had a great stay.

Everything clean on arrival. Could do with a few more touches ie salad colander full length mirror proper cheese graters. Foil greaseproof paper little things like that.

Close to beach and all amenities. Garden enclosed, good for dogs and children. Parking good. WiFi good. Beds comfy and clean towelslinen. Concerns re bin collections reported to housekeeper but general waste still not collected before we left. Cleanliness concerns in bathrooms reported in guest book. Lack of appliance handbooks oven and microwave very complicated to use, dishwasher temperamental, induction hob would not work. New scissors required. Replace rusty free standing towel rail in bathroom. Front door to hallway could not be opened. Patio door awkward to operate. Back door handle for locking needs attention. Concern that main entryexit points all require attention. Tea bagscoffee provided but small carton of milk would be appreciated after long journey. Wash tabs and dishwasher tabs provided. A pan scourer and some mutlipurpose cleaner for guest use on surfacesbathroom would be good for guests TV complicated to use via apps. We scrubbed the outside patio table which was covered in green algae. Detritus behind the bins needs cleaning away green bincompost bin full and 'fermenting'. As a consquence of the amazing weather during our week's stay we were out and about walking most of the time and it was lovely to sit in the sun trap under the 'pagoda' on our return. Had we had to spend longer inside at the property the above niggles would have definitely spoilt our visit. We hope our fair and honest comments are acted upon to ensure the accommodation is returned to the high standard it should and am sure will be. Consequently our 35 rating.

Fabulous location, the whole property was very clean and maintained to a good standard Quality furnishings, garden was very private and secure and the hot tub wonderful Would definitely recommend Only one small suggestion, a bin schedule on the inside of the gate would be helpful to all concerned as it would have been no effort to put outside the gate on collection day had we known.

Beautiful cottage with an amazing totally contained garden which wraps all the way round the house. Check in was easy and beds are super comfy. Heating was on and it made it very cosy when you come back off a cold windy walk down the beach. The snug is a hairy decent and I would not advise going up there if you are unsteady at all on your feet. Minutes from the beach, pubs, shops and restaurants Only request would be a radio or similar in the kitchen as I couldn't get any radio stations through the TV. We will be back and highly recommend .

Quiet location, great for a chilled holiday and a credit to the owners.

We had a fantastic stay with our two dogs. Its a great location and very accommodating for pets. Upon arrival, we were pleased to find some logs provided to get us started, which was a nice touch. There were a few niggles that could be easily fixed the dishwasher and toilet seats were broken, and the bathroom door was quite difficult to close. We also struggled with blocked drains when emptying the hot tub. Regarding the hot tub, definitely start heating it early! It took us nearly 2 bags of logs to get it to temperaturea headsup on the prep time and wood consumption would have been useful for planning our evenings. Despite these issues, the house is lovely and we had a great holiday. Wed certainly consider returning if these small maintenance bits were sorted out.

Beautiful property, well maintained. Its an amazing location so close amenities. Superb private garden for our dogs. Great property if you have mobility issues. We had a very relaxing stay. Would definitely return.

We arrived to a not so clean property which was very disappointing for us! The property itself self the decor was lovely, but the cleanliness of the property was very poor, floors has not been cleaned and quite visible under one of the beds was a paracetamol tablet. I spotted it before my little dog spotted.So obviously the floors had not been hoovered . Its a shame because it was a lovely property just in need of a deep clean also we spent 20 on logs for the hot tub and it didnt really heat the water so that was a waste of time sorry to be so negative but for what we paid we didnt see a return. Also outside in the garden was dog foal that hadnt been cleaned up.

A stunning cottage, completely enclosed for doggy guests. Everything squeaky clean and top of range equipment etc. We had lovely days out in the area and would recommend. Big however. We failed to get the log burning hot tub to fire up. Four bags fuel and followed instructions to the letter. I called Sykes after three failed attempts and asked for help. No help or feedback given so despite another attempt to get the thing got we had no use of this facility. The cottage was chosen because of having the hot tub and that added to the expense of the holiday. Other guests repeatedly mention how impossible or difficult it is to get it to work. After a 5 hour journey and nearly 400 miles of driving we were so looking forward to using it. I am disappointed in Sykes for not sorting and disappointed with the owners for not helping. Based on that problem, we would not book the cottage again which is really sad as it was ideal in so many ways.

Very spacious and comfortable everything you needed for a great time, garden was excellent for four legged friends, short walk down to the front, great food at the Sea Shanty and the staff there were fantastic, had a great week and weather was lovely. Philip and Julie Sep 25

We had a lovely stay in the house. It is well equipped, lovely kitchen for meals. Nice cosy lounge for evenings. The hot tub is a really nice feature. We did have to clean it out before using though. Its position is perfect, it was very windy while we were there and it was so sheltered that we still were able to use the hot tub. I think in better weather the garden would have been lovely. We were so impressed by the secure garden for the dogs. Thanks for a lovely stay. The only thing that let it down was the cleaning of it. It was generally nice and clean but the radiators towel rail in the bathroom were thick with dust and under the chairs or sofas hadnt been cleaned. The ornaments on window sills were also quite dusty. It just felt like it needed a bit of a spring clean to get splashes off the back of doors in the bathroom etc rather than a quick clean that is probably only doable when it has a gap in bookings or with an extra cleaner once in a while as I appreciate its a big job cleaning the house ready for the next guest.

Gorgeous place! Worked so well for our family for the last week, safe and secure for our kids 9&7 and our woofer, shes especially loved the large garden and sunshine! Hot Tub was marvellously relaxing, dining at the kitchen island was a lovely way to end our long fun days. Already booked again for next year! Thank you. X

We enjoyed our stay, the bungalow is 2 mins walk to beach. Beds comfy,everything worked, decorated very nicely. No firestarters or kindling provided for fire , also disappointed that no welcome pack was provided. All that said, we would stay again

The cottage is amazing, private, quiet, comfortable, stylish excellent. The outdoor area is a bit of a work in progress, but with great potential. Totally enclosed, so no issue with our dog getting out. We loved it and would definitely stay again.

The cottage was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. We had a really relaxing stay especially due to the enclosed garden that was fully dog proof so many aren't. The garden had been updated since we booked and was a real bonus. The cottage is really nicely located in the village for exploring the local area and popping out for food or to the shop once you read the guide and work out where the short cut is!. We'd love to stay again.

Beautiful cottage. Beautiful location. Everything we needed. As listed. Very lucky with the weather but even so beach and coast path on our door step!, peaceful and private.

Wonderful, comfortable cottage. All our needs catered for here. Beautifully decorated and clean. We really appreciated the fully enclosed garden for our lively spaniel. Would recommend this property very highly.

Lovely property. Hob a bit tricky to work. Television not very easy. Not a lot of hanging space and could do with a full lenght mirror either on the wall or freestanding. We are in our seventies so technology never easy. Apart from those few things everything very comfirtable.

As previously mentioned a lovely setting, comfortable and very clean. Short on storage in bedroom felt like we were living out of a suitcase, however can see that they haven't much room to enhance it. Disappointed there was no garden furniture for us to sit out as we were there when it was fabulous weather.

Our review mirrors those previously posted. The cottage is well situated for exploring both Trearddur and the rest of Anglesey. Its comfortable, clean and well equipped. The garden appears to be a work in progress, the garden furniture is not useable. It will be interesting to see how this area develops in the future as it could be a real asset. The bedrooms are snug, and storage is limited. The only worthy concern was with the hot tub. When we lifted the lid there were a few inches of water at the base and in the recess around the perimeter. This water contained hair amongst other detritus. This is something that should have been checked prior to arrival. We didnt use the tub! We hope this was an oversight so it would not deter us from using the cottage again in the future. Lovely property, lots of nice little touches like the washing up bits and laundry pods. A little short on storage for clothes, and also in the kitchen if planning to buy food to cook at home. Easy walking distance to the beach. Only negative, and nothing to do with the property itself is people need to clean up after their dogs, found 3 parcels left behind.

Lovely place to stay peaceful and quiet. Facilities were exceptional. It was lovely thay plenty of products were availablefor washer and dishwasher. I would definitely recommend. Only down side was the hot tub. We read instructions but we weren't sure if we could use the logs in lounge to heat the tub. It was empty lid was off and dirty in the bottom we didn't want to hose it out as it stated not to pull plug as it will drain onto neighbours. So we didn't use it on our stay But it's not put us off booking in future.
