Pencraig, Trearddur Bay

Our second stay for our family. Catered well for 11 of us. Loved the open fire and hot tub. Kids didn't want to leave. Property in a great location. Enjoyed our early morning dog walks on the beach. Highly recommended.

Arrived at the property plot is huge but looking tired and needing dating . The inside is huge and was clean and very well equipped. We went in the garden and there was a hole in the decking by the hot tub which I reported straight away to owner incase we got billed and he said he would fix it if needed but I said we could manage till we left . Conservatory windows were open when we arrived and when we went to close them they wouldnt shut was like they had dropped . I messaged the owner who never got back , I also messaged Sykes numerous times but they never sorted it for us either . Was so cold in there as wind blowing in our elderly parents could not use it to watch us in garden . The door in conservatory would also not open the lock is broken which I see others have complained about many times , surly this is a fire hazard! With a bit of updating and new sofas and garden landscaped this could be one amazing property as location was amazing only 15 min walk to the beach . We still had a nice holiday dispite problems but were very disappointed with service from owner and Sykes for not sorting out our problems

The property is in a lovely, peaceful area with a 12 minute walk to the front. It's a good sized property with plenty of space for 6 adults, 4 children and a dog. The windows in the conservatory weren't able to close properly so maybe chilly when the weather cools down. A clothes maiden would be useful as when it rains not everything can go in a dryer and there's no where else to dry them. We all had a lovely time and would definitely like to stay here again.

Excellent place Clean and very well equipped. Needs some maintenance. There was a broken decking near hot tub and conservatory door very difficult to unlock & lock which I know has been mentioned by previous guests.

Pencraig is an amazing property in an ideal location for the beaches, shops and a walk into Trearddur. The property has everything you need the back garden is private and spacious where we spent our evenings eating alfresco. We did take our own bbq however there is a small bbq at the property. We struggled to open the conservatory doors as the locking mechanism was rusted. Possibly due to the weather salt and sand in the air. We did manage in the end and I contacted Bev the owner who responded immediately. Which was great. Perhaps a can of WD40 to be left in the house and the cleaners to check and use when needed. We had an amazing time so much so we have already booked the property for next year.

Great cottage

Wonderful spacious home for large families to enjoy we all loved it and so clean our compliments to the cleaners and conveniently situated for walking into centre. Outside railing needs securing and for security the conservatory's lock needs attending too apart from that it presents itself as described. Thank you for the opportunity to stay there.

The property was very nice big garden for the dogs rooms were big beds comfortable lots of board games to play in the evening it is also in a good area close to the beach and shops. Just a small word of advice is to keep up with the maintenance of the bungalow fixtures and fittings

Great Bungalow spacious and well equipped for a group of friends or family as in our case. 6 Adults and three children 961. nice big back garden housing the hot tub in a secluded corner which we made use of. Nicely located near Trearddur Bay although our satnav sent us a very weird way into a fenced of company yard and told to turn left up a dirt track which on reaching the top took us down a even worse track through a wooded area which was only fit for tractors and was a single use track. we were lucky we did not meet anyone coming up. The track eventually brought us out on a proper road only a short distance from the bungalow. Should anyone else have this problem turn round and ask for alternative route once entering the company yard area. When you got to the other end and joined a proper road you looked round and there was a sign that said the road we had come down was a dead end and unfit for vehicles. There are plenty of supermarkets and large shops about 10 minutes away. Also takeaways and pubs and restaurants. Do your homework on Google. A easy walk into Trearddur Bay to the pub. A couple of minor points no proper up to date folder the Wifi code given is not correct and you have to get it from the back of the router. Bin information was incorrect. Told we were to have bins available for access on Wednesday it happened that I was at the front of the bungalow on Tuesday when they came to empty them and quickly gave them access. The bins I may add were full. The conservatory door is locked and does not open onto the garden and the two side windows in it can not be shut. A travel cot was provided but with no mattress part. We had to improvise on our arrival. There is no lock on the gate leading from the back garden to the front of the bungalow and the road if you want to lock in small children safely. Apart from that we had a very good holiday in the bungalow and it met all our important requirements. We recommend the bungalow and should we come back to Anglesey would not hesitate to book it again as it is a really good place.

Fabulous location and facilities at the property. Everything was very clean and set up beautifully for our stay.

Absolutely fabulous. Spacious clean, great base to explore from. I would recommend the hot tub We had three young children with us so it was great to relax in once they had gone to bed. I cannot recommend this property enough All nine of us plus our dog loved it. Thank you.

Amazing time, plenty of space, well stocked with cooking equipment etc. fantastic location, would definitely recommend. We had 9 people and 2 dogs and didn't feel like we were in each other's way.

This property is in a lovely location just a short walk from the town. Great for a large family and it had everything we need however definitely would benefit from some updating and maintenance.

One of our favourite parts of Anglesey to visit so knew we wouldnt be disappointed. Overall we had a brilliant stay at Pencraig! All the children, adults and pets had an enjoyable time. The owner was friendly and helpful if needed, hot tub was a great plus and the beds were super comfy. We had a couple of minor issues but the owner was on hand and very quickly resolved them. If youre looking for a stay for a large group just a short walk to the beach then Id definitely recommend!

This house was in a great location especially if you like little walks. The rooms and the house itself were beautiful. Their were 2 things that let the holiday down, their were ants everywhere even in the bedrooms, the bathroom was the worst ! The last thing, their are no outside lights and my husband fell off the step by the hot tub and has now got a lovely brushed hand and leg !!

The positives include the location which is excellent, quiet yet within walking distance of Trearddur Bay, and the well equipped kitchen. The beds were comfortable and the generously sized towels for the hot tub were appreciated. The house was spacious enough for our party of six adults, four children and two dogs. There were many negatives, however, and the house and garden really need some attention. The heavy coping stones on top of a wall in the garden were loose and just balanced on top. That was a serious danger, with children and dogs running around. The furniture in the sitting room was grubby and worn, and the vertical blinds in the conservatory were torn. The shower door in the ensuite didnt close properly so the floor was likely to flood. The shower in the main bathroom was weak and the bath didnt drain very well. As other reviewers have said, there was no information provided about when recycling bins should be put out. Consequently, we arrived to overflowing bins outside the property. I messaged the owner in advance to ask if the single beds in one bedroom could be linked together, and was told they would be. But they werent. Ive never written such a negative review. We really enjoyed our holiday, but I strongly feel that it was overpriced.

The house was everything that was listed. The kitchen was well equipped. The garden and hot tub was great for our family. There were instructions for all appliances but nothing about how to recycle in the numerous bins provided. Each county have their own rules on recycling so some instructions would have helped. We did our best to group items together and hope it was ok. All in all we had a fabulous time. Thank you x

This was our second time at the pencraig. We noticed a few little things that we wanted to feedback to you. We had half a toilet roll which we then had to go and get more on new year's day, the bin and recycle tub were already full, it wasn't cleaned to a good standardfood on plates, looked like it had not been dusted, cobwebs no outside light for safety accessing to the hot tub

The property is large enough for a good family get together and comfortable on the most but maintenance is required. The large sofa is not very comfortable now due to wear & tear. There were several broken draws, shower head and holder, we had to repair a wardrobe door as it fell off when it was opened. The conservatory sliding door handle was broken. We did have a great stay and it is in a lovely part of Anglesey. The hot tub was fab and well used.

Just come back from a weeks stay at Pencraig cant recommend this place enough perfect cottage with all the facilities needed, the owners have thought of everything. We will definitely be booking again soon thanks so much.

This property was perfect, it was well equipped, clean, spacious inside and out. It met all of our family needs. The hot tub was a bonus. Had a slight problem but it was dealt with promptly by the owner. Looking to rebooking again next year. With 4 small children and dogs the property is perfect.

The cottage is amazing, it had everything we needed. There were just a couple of communication issues. We knew from reading previous reviews that the hot tub was an additional 200 to hire. But at the time of booking, and indeed paying the full balance, it was never stated that if we didnt pay for the hot tub BEFORE arriving, we would have to move heaven and earth with numerous phone calls to Sykes very helpful and the owner not very helpful to get them to unlock the hot tub. If you pay before, they leave the key if you dont you will have to wait till Monday as the hot tub people dont work on Sundays. Luckily Sykes were very helpful and we finally got a key from the housekeeper who came out on her day off!! Once at the cottage there is a key box on the windowsill in the kitchen with keys to the outhouse etc only we didnt know about it until the housekeeper showed us because it looked like just an ornament and there is no welcome pack telling you where things are etc Aside from that, we had the best stay!! Location is superb and facilities are perfect. Will be booking the cottage again and will be booking with Sykes again to other destinations as they are professional to the core!!! Hope the hot tub miscommunication gets sorted, it rather ruined my Sunday.

Absolutely fantastic stay with my family. Everything we needed,really clean and tidy. Hot tub an added bonus .Close to local amenities and even provided great weather we will definitely be returning next year.Thank you for our holiday with no stress whatsoever .

Wonderful cottage, fabulous location, very clean and well equiped, beautiful Christmas Dec's. Lovely bottle of bubbles and chocs on arrival. Bit of a problem with condensation pudding on floors and dishwashers not closing properly....but nothing major. A bit of a guide would have been useful explaining where the key box containing all the additional keys was, the location of the tumble dryer, what to do with recycling and if beds needed stripping before we left etc. Over all a fabulous place to stay.

Came here in October 2021, it really was one of the best cottages weve been to. It was brilliantly clean and was very well equipped. We paid for the hot tub and it really was a highlight. Its around a 15 minute walk to the the lovely Trearddur bay which has some lovely restaurants to eat from, and the beach is stunning especially at sunset. We are already looking at coming back next year sometime which we have never done with a cottage before. So hopefully we will be back soon

The property is lovely in a quiet relaxing setting. Close to beaches supermarket and main roads linking to all areas of Anglesey. The hot tub was a huge plus and the weather was lovely for late September. Definitely recommend this.

Spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated making for a very enjoyable stay. Set in a quiet location approx 10 min walk to the beach and close to local amenities. Will definitely stay there again! The hot tub was devine !

It was our 3rd visit to Pencraig. Absolutely loved every minute there..

Really easy booking process, regular emails with relevant information. Beautiful bungalow, best equipped we've been in. Issue with hot tub sorted same day by owner. Location great. Had a really lovely holiday. Nice touches from owner, xmas card and bottle of prosecco.would recommend to others.

Pencraig house is very well located and comfortable. We appreciated staying at this place. Feedback Upon arrival we realized that there was an extra charge of 150 for the hot tube. I find the website information misleading as it looks to be included within the house rental httpswww.menaiholidays.co.ukcottageAngleseyTrearddurBayPencraig1008952.html I understand that you will want to add some reasonable maintenaces fees but 150 is too expensive, almost 15 of the rent. There is no coffee machine, only a single shot french press. Not enough for a house of this size. We end up buying one at Tesco.

1 The bottom hinge on the fridge door has the screws missing. 2 The fridge leaks and the water drains into the bottom drawer. 3 The freezer needs defrosting. 4 The garden needs attention. 5 We went out to the shops leaving the wife's 90 year old mother with the dog in the bungalow. When we returned we were informed by a passing jogger that three youths had been standing on the driveway and one of them had been looking through the front room windows.Luckily the wife's mother had been sitting in the conservatory and the dog's barking seemed to scare them off. We found this quite worrying.
